Computer Museum

The GWDG holds a small collection of computing tools, computers and peripherals. The focus is on the presentation of computer modules, consisting of processing unit and memory, in order to promote the understanding of modern high-performance systems through the representation of technological development in computer technology.

The exhibits are located in the entrance area of Tower 6, as well as in showcases on the ground floor corridors of Towers 5 and 6, and are explained with detailed information.

Note: Due to the current Corona pandemic the museum is not accessible. We hope that visits shall be possible again soon.

The computer museum of the GWDG is also represented in the collection portal of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, which reflects the variety of Göttingen’s collection landscape, which will be on display in the Forum Wissen in the future.
