Hereby, understanding the underlying principles of parallelism is not only essential for usage of HPC resources, but also enables you to get the most out of your desktop PC or laptop. Current hardware - be it CPUs or GPUs - are all equipped wih multiple compute units.

In addition, understanding computational methods is key to cutting edge research and a view beyond one’s own nose can help to pinpoint the best solutions to your problems.
